Friday evening, recurring Propeller Skies character John and I stopped by Front Page News in Little Five Points (L5P). We were there to attend Halloween Hookup, which was organized by the good folks at the Rejection Hotline and Beneath the Noise. Front Page News in L5P is one of my favorite places to attend events, because they have a huge outdoor patio that is conducive to meeting people.

Previously, I attended a Rejection Hotline Party at this same location and had a most excellent time. Halloween Hookup would turn out the same, as the place was packed with laid back, friendly people.

Not only does the Rejection Line bring the hotties, they bring quality hotties that are friendly and interesting to talk to. For example, I ended up chatting for quite some time with a woman who had attended Oklahoma University. She was smokin’ hot, but I have standards. I would date a tea-sip before even considering going out with a Sooner. This reminds me of my favorite Oklahoma joke, which was told to me one summer in Luckenbach, Texas, while playing washers and sipping on an ice cold Lonestar Light. The joke goes like this: why do Oklahoma license plates read, “Oklahoma is OK?” Because they can’t spell mediocre.

I left this party with a nice buzz and a number from one of the aforementioned quality hotties. I highly recommend the Rejection Line events.
