Some time ago, recurring Propeller Skies commenter Ross mentioned Five Guys Burgers in Lindbergh Center. Took me a while to get there, but a ground cow loving cracker like me had to make the journey.
a battle of burger titans: five guys versus fat
Both burger joints share the same philosophy: burgers should be cooked fresh and made out of quality ingredients.
The Five Guys burger was decent, but not great. I also found the fries to be all right. Overall, Five Guys Burgers was reasonably tasty.
How can I not like Fatburger? The motherfucking Beastie Boys name check them. Speaking of music, Fatburger’s jukebox destroys Five Guys Burgers. The music at Five Guys blew fucking goats.
Fatburger also takes the advantage where it is important - the burgers and fries. The Kingburger is juicier and exploding with flavor compared to Five Guys Burgers. I also prefer Fatburger’s skinny fries to Five Guys Burgers’ regular fries. Fat fries, however, suck ass.
Although Five Guys Burgers and Fatburger are mighty tasty, Hand in Pants, The Earl, North Highland Pub, and The Vortex are still the gold standard of burgers in Atlanta.

White Castle.
I ate at Ted’s on Peachtree once with someone you know. It was OK, but overly pricey.

Glad you checked Five Guys out.
For me Vortex is still #1 in my heart for Atlanta burgers - but mostly for their tater tot nachos.
Now it’s time for the great pizza debate. Oh how I miss my Double Dave’s pepperoni rolls - but the Meatball Roll at NY Pizza Exchange in Vinings is the closest I’ve found. Few more times there and I’ll have the nerve to go back in their kitchen and show them how it’s done.
Smoove D says:
No problem. Five Guys was certainly decent and worth visiting. Dude, why you got to remind me of pepperoni rolls? Besides Freebirds monster burritos, those are the only College Station cuisine items I miss. Let me guess, you got here searching for “fire Franchione?”
ross says:
No. I was searching for “pepperoni rolls atlanta”
Proud UT grad here.

If you happen to work in the midtown area, this place called burger joes makes some kickass cowburgers (and turkeyburgers, if you dig that sort of thing). plus, they deliver. but if you call on a rainy day, expect to wait an hour or more to get your meat.
Smoove D says:
Actually, I happen to live in the midtown area, for another two weeks, anyway, and definately dig Burger Joes. I like to eat there though, as fries don’t deliver so well.

What’s your opinion: White Castle or Krystal?
As for me, it’s Porcelain Palace all the way.
Ted’s has a decent burger, too. I avoid the bison, but their beef burgers are decent. A bit pricey, but the grease-soaked bun mitigates the initial expense.
