dennis franchione is clearly a genius

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

This makes sense. Dennis Franchione fires Carl Torbush, who was actually a successful head coach at North Carolina and hires Gary Darnell, whose most recent accomplishment was losing 10 games as head coach of Western Michigan. By the way, most of the teams Western Michigan played while Darnell was compiling that stellar record suck harder than an Electrolux.

fucking finally

We here at the Prizzo Skeezy sincerely wish Carl Torbush the best of luck at his next position. From ESPN: Torbush Fired As Defensive Coordinator. Now all Dennis Franchione needs to do is hire a coordinator who can get the wrecking crew back to wrecking.

for the last time, fire dennis franchione

Friday, November 25th, 2005

For the sixth year in a row and the third time under the alleged leadership of Dennis Franchione, Texas A&M lost to the motherfucking tea-sips. After watching the poor performance of the Texas A&M defense all season, I was expecting a blow out. However, Franchione and the Aggies managed to stay in the game. I even briefly thought the Aggies might pull off an upset. Unfortunately a blocked punt returned for a touchdown by the Longhorns dashed hopes of a Texas A&M victory.

fire carl torbush too

A big Propeller Skies shout out goes to the Aggie defense, which finally showed up and held Texas under their average of 50.1 points per game. However, the Longhorns still managed to score 40 points. Based on the lackluster performance of the defense throughout the entire season, Carl Torbush needs to be replaced.

dennis franchione jokes

Tuesday, November 15th, 2005

By searching for “Dennis Franchione jokes,” a few readers have arrived here at Propeller Skies. Unfortunately, these readers found no jokes here, because Dennis Franchione is a joke. Franchione has regrettably turned a once great football program into the largest punch line in the Big 12.

If Texas A&M only had a defense, Franchione and the Aggies could have beat Oklahoma for the first time in the Franchione era on Saturday. Unfortunately, complements of Carl Torbush’s Pink Shirts defense, for the second time in Franchione’s three years as head coach, Texas A&M will suffer the indignity of a losing season and will not be bowl eligible.

Predictably, the Aggie defense got worse in every area Propeller Skies tracks, except for pass defense, which improved marginally. The following statistics make the case for firing Torbush:

  • The Aggie defense is last in the Big 12 in points allowed, with 30.3 points per game, which is an increase of 0.6 points per game - they now have the distinction of being the only Big 12 team allowing over 30 points per game;
  • Pass defense improved, dropping to 318.9 yards per game, a decrease of 2.3 yards per game - still good for last in the Big 12;
  • In contrast, rushing defense got worse, increasing to 135.7 yards per game, 8.4 more yards per game than last week;
  • Yet again, Texas A&M is last in the Big 12 in total defense with 454.6 total yards allowed per game, an increase of 6 yards per game. Opposing offenses are still averaging almost 6.0 yards per play against the hapless Aggie defense.

hire mike price

Monday, November 7th, 2005

Bill Byrne needs to fire Dennis Franchione, Carl Torbush, and the rest of the hopelessly inept coaching staff immediately, as Franchione is now the proud owner of a losing record at Texas A&M. We here at Propeller Skies propose hiring Mike Price as head coach and Bob Davies as defensive coordinator.

Despite a receiving corps that drops passes like B-29s drop bombs, the Aggie offense is showing some signs of life. Their average of 32.6 points per game is good for third in the Big 12, behind Texas and Texas Tech.

In contrast to the offense, the Texas A&M Pink Shirts defense managed to perform even worse than the prior week. Every single defensive statistic we track here at the Prizzo Skeezy got worse at an accelerating rate, as shown by the following statistics:

  • The Pink Shirts are allowing 29.7 points per game, an increase of 3.3 points per game over last week;
  • As per usual, pass defense is last in the Big 12 with 321.2 yards allowed per game, an increase of 14 yards per game;
  • The Aggies are now allowing 127.3 rushing yards per game, an increase of 8.3 yards per game; and
  • Texas A&M, once feared for the Wrecking Crew, is again dead last in the Big 12 in total defense with 448.6 yards allowed per game. The Aggies are now allowing 22.4 more yards per game than last week. Opposing offenses are averaging 6.0 yards per play, an increase of 0.2 yards.

fire torbush and franchione already

Sunday, October 30th, 2005

Carl Torbush needs to be fired immediately. Under his watch the Texas A&M defense, already ranked last in the Big 12 Conference, is getting worse. This week Torbush’s patented Pink Shirts defense performed worse in every category Propeller Skies tracks. The following statistics tell the tale:

  • Texas A&M is allowing 26.4 points per game, an increase of 2.3 points per game;
  • Pass defense remains dead last in the Big 12, with yards allowed increasing to 307.2 per game, an increase of 9.1 yards per game over last week;
  • The Aggies have fallen to eighth in the Big 12 in rushing defense, allowing 119.0 yards per game, an increase of 8.4 yards per game; and
  • Texas A&M remains last in the Big 12 in total defense with total yards allowed per game increasing to 426.2, or 17.5 more yards than last week. Opposing teams are now averaging 5.8 yards per play, or 0.2 more yards per play than last week.

This superlative performance came against Iowa State, which is ranked sixth in total offense and ninth in total defense in the conference. Making matters worse, this extremely poor performance by Torbush and the Pink Shirts occurred at Kyle Field in front of over 86,000 fans.

Unlike last week, the Aggie offense was unable to save the day. The rushing attack clearly got lost on the way to Kyle Field and missed the game. Passing was not any better, as Reggie McNeal had a hard time hitting receivers. Dennis Franchione should have pulled McNeal, who was clearly having an off day. The rank incompetence of Franchione and Torbush has become an embarrassment to the entire state of Texas.

fire carl torbush

Sunday, October 23rd, 2005

Dennis Franchione needs to be fired for not sending defensive coordinator Carl Torbush to the unemployment line. While the Aggies as a whole have been underachieving this year, Torbush’s incompetence has resulted in the following stellar defensive statistics:

  • Texas A&M is allowing 24.1 points per game, which is good for eighth in the Big 12;
  • Pass defense is dead last in the Big 12 with opposing teams averaging 298.1 yards per game;
  • Rushing defense is slightly better with only 110.6 yards per game allowed, putting the Aggies seventh in the Big 12; and
  • Texas A&M is ranked twelfth in the Big 12 in total defense, allowing 408.7 yards per game and 5.6 yards per play.

Part of the problem is the inability of the players to hit worth a damn. In the few games I have seen this season, it looks like the Aggies are afraid to tackle opposing players. Therefore, until the defense improves, I propose naming them the Pink Shirts. If anyone sees the Wrecking Crew, please give them a lift back to College Station, as they are sorely needed.

In contrast to the sorry defense, the Aggie offense is not last in the Big 12. With 474.3 yards per game, they are fourth in the conference. However, the combination of Reggie McNeal, Jason Carter, and Javorskie Lane should be shredding opposing defenses like Arthur Andersen shreds incriminating documents. With these three, the Aggie offense is capable of putting up closer to 550 yards per game. Instead, Franchione is pissing away the considerable talent of McNeal, Carter, and Lane with his retarded and predictable play calling.

I am disgusted that Franchione and Torbush remain employed. With the pathetic state of the Big 12 north, only the tea-sips should stand between the Aggies and a Big 12 championship. Instead the Aggies are barely winning close games and lost twice to bad teams. This is a shit state of affairs and should not be tolerated.

fire dennis franchione anyway

Tuesday, October 18th, 2005

Just because Reggie McNeal, Javorskie Lane, and the rest of the Texas A&M Aggies destroyed Oklahoma State on Saturday does not mean Dennis Franchione should continue to coach in Aggieland. However should Mr. Franchione continue this level of effort and defeat Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and TU I will grudgingly admit that Mr. Franchione can coach worth a damn. More likely, monkeys will start flying out of my butt.

time to hire some escorts

I thought the once proud Texas A&M football program could not do worse than barely beating Baylor in overtime. I thought wrong. This week, Dennis Franchione has brought the team to a new low. Texas A&M was soundly defeated by Colorado, a school so pathetic the coach allegedly used alcohol fueled sex parties to lure recruits.

fire dennis franchione now

Texas A&M barely defeated Baylor in overtime yesterday. This is an improvement over last year, when the Aggies lost to the Bears in overtime. For Prizzo Skeezy readers unfamiliar with Big 12 football, Baylor is the perennial conference doormat and averages one win a season.

To be fair to Mr. Franchione, it is possible this Baylor football team is better than usual. After all, they did start the season by going 3 and 0, which is probably the first time since 1845 that the Baylor football won three games in a single season. However, in a classic sign of poor coaching, the Aggies were flagged for 8 penalties totaling 61 yards. Unacceptable.
